It’s no secret that West County is home to several amazing all girls’ schools. It was just released that Visitation Academy will be revitalizing its Lower Field into a dynamic new multi-sport complex scheduled to open in Fall 2027. It will include a state-of-the-art turf field, a dedicated training area, new press box, and updated guest bleachers. It was also announced that Cor Jesu Academy just launched their Do It With Heart campaign that is going going to fundraise for increasing their endowment but also expanding their athletic facilities to include an 8-lane track, field stadium, turf field, press box, locker rooms, concessions, tennis courts, and guest seating. Construction is going to start in November with completion in summer. All great things for girl athletics in West County! As you may already know, on Nov. 3 voters will be voting on the new St. Louis County Executive. The two candidates are Republican Dennis Hancock and Democrat Jake Zimmerman. The major issues they recently discussed at a Q&A were the multi-million budget deficit, where the new headquarters should be, and the tense relationship there is between the county executive’s office and County Council.
