If you’re like me, you’re looking forward to lots of celebrations this summer surrounding America’s 250th birthday. Manchester has just released a speaker series that will be in addition to their events, activities and commemorative merchandise. Several of these speaker series will be regarding genealogy and in general information regarding our nation’s founding history. Events can be found here: http://manchestermo.gov/registernow They will have a larger celebration at Schroeder Park on June 14. In Chesterfield, the narrow strip of land along Chesterfield Parkway West between Park Circle Drive and Vista Place has a planned residential development that is seeking TIF (tax increment financing) funds. TriStar Properties is the one that submitted the site development plan. It includes 105 villas on 16.8 acres. Recent changes to the plan prompted this which was the result of reorienting a road. I’m sure there will be more information to come on that. So many moving parts going on in all the Chesterfield construction! Onto local sports…congratulations to Brody Owen from Marquette that set a new record for single-game scoring in basketball at 47 points!! Amazing, congrats!!
