Exciting things in store for the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex out in the Valley. $2million in improvements are planned for the complex that will be named Chesterfield First Community Athletic Complex. It includes 16 bullpens, replacement of 2 dugouts, resurfacing of pickleball courts, and construction of 2 new parking lots. Byrne and Jones Sports Construction will be doing the design and construction. A bill has been proposed to Missouri lawmakers that would limit screen time learning in MO public schools and require cursive be taught to grades 2-5. Rep Tricia Byrnes, who is the one who filed the bill, says there is research out there that shows the negative affects of overuse of technology. The long talked about project at Wilson Avenue from Wild Horse Creek Road to the Wilson Creek culvert in Chesterfield is finally headed towards construction. Recently the Chesterfield city council approved a contract with Kelpe Contracting to complete the project and with Oates Associates who will be completing the design of the project. Construction is supposed to start in the spring. Project is going to help road deficiencies like sharp curves, narrow roadway, no shoulder and no sidewalks.
