WEST COUNTY NEWS
A historic house in Wildwood finally got its demolition permit. The 2-story J.P. Connell House was built in 1913 and located at the intersection of St. Albans and Manchester. Despite it being in the Wildwood Historic Building inventory, St. Albans Properties was approved the permit to demolish it. The Historic Preservation Commission fought to keep it but ultimately was out voted. For those that live in Creve Coeur, you probably already are aware of the stormwater problem there. Trekk Design has been hired to correct the issues, specifically at Mason Forest Drive, Fernpark Drive, and Bellington Lane. Hopefully over the next year, this will get underway and fixed. And good luck to the top-seeded Parkway West hockey team as they begin to play in the Wickenheiser Cup quarterfinals!
WHAT WE’RE LOVING THIS WEEK
BUSINESS OF THE WEEK: This week I’m highlighting El Toluco Taqueria & Grocery located in Manchester! This small Hispanic grocery store over the years has turned into quite a popular spot for not only groceries but for their authentic Mexican food and, more specifically, their tacos. They have a strong following of clients/fans and it is with good reason. They make everything fresh including their tortillas. I unfortunately read on their Facebook page that after 8 1/2 years they will be closing and moving on with a new chapter. They will be open until July. If you have ever wanted to try this place, now is the time to do it!! I wish them all the best in their next chapter! https://www.facebook.com/eltolucotaqueria
