A new book was released by a Lafayette social studies teacher, Jodie Lee, called “Makenna’s Brave Start” in honor of her daughter who has Alopecia, which causes hair loss on various parts of the body.  Her daughter Makenna was approaching preschool and Jodie wanted a book she could read to her to help her with the transition.  She decided to write one herself.  What a great, inspiring story and reminds us all to be brave and be kind.  Maybe you have noticed this name change already but if you haven’t been out that way, the Chesterfield Sports Complex  has been renamed to The Beal Center after Bradley Beal who is a St. Louis native is a Phoenix Suns NBA star.  Included at the complex  are indoor volleyball and basketball courts with LED lights, streaming cameras, spectator seating, lounge areas and full food service.  

WHAT WE’RE LOVING THIS WEEK

BUSINESS OF THE WEEK:  We’re continuing to feature Tre Cuori Gelateria & Acai located in Ellisville!  They specialize in fresh gelato, authentic Brazilian Açaí bowls and other desserts like amazingly delicious brownies. The store itself is absolutely adorable and has such a nice cozy feel.
