The YMCA in Chesterfield recently celebrated the beginning of a $9.2 million renovation. One of the big renovations taking place is a 11,000 square foot fitness center that will be ADA-compliant. There will also be a community kitchen where cooking classes can be held and nutrition education events. Another exciting renovation happening in and around the new Downtown Chesterfield! Metro West Fire Protection officially swore in the new Fire Chief… Brad Shelton. He was appointed after Fire Chief G. Michael Krause III retired in July after 25 years of service. At the ceremony, he talked about continuing the high level of service that Metro West is known for and looks forward to driving the district towards new technologies, recruiting great people and being fiscally responsible. Congrats to him! In other good news, four St. Louis hospitals were rated as among the nation’s best in the U.S. News & World Report. #1 Barnes Jewish(in metro area & in state), #2 Mercy Hospital (in metro area & in state), #3 BJC Missouri Baptist Medical Center (in metro area & in state) and #4 St. Luke’s Hospital (in metro area & #5 in state). We are so fortunate to live in a place with so many great hospitals.
