WEST COUNTY NEWS

A decision on the popular discussion of whether those curb bump-outs along Clarkson and Long roads should be removed or not has finally come to an end.  It was released earlier this week that they WILL be removed by early summer due to overwhelming resident feedback.  Monarch Fire Protection District along with St. Luke’s Hospital just launched a new way to resuscitate patients that are experiencing cardiac arrest.  It’s called ECPR (Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).  It supports the heart and lungs when CPR isn’t enough.  Monarch in 2024 reported doubling the national average for cardiac arrest survival rates and now with this new technology that number will only increase.  Great news for local residents. Congratulations is in order for St. Joseph’s Academy as they earn first in the state swimming championship- first time it’s happened since 1983!
