Des Peres is getting some new restaurants. They are not only new to Des Peres but will be brand new to the St. Louis area. Toastique and Sourdough & Company recently filed for zoning permission. They will be located in the Corners shopping center there at Manchester and Ballas. Toastique is a gourmet toast and juice bar. Sourdough & Company specializes in sourdough sandwiches, bread bowls and salads. I can’t wait for these to open! This year, Pathfinder Church out in Ellisville is celebrating their 175th anniversary. They are marking this special occasion by doing 175 acts of service. WHAT WE’RE LOVING THIS WEEK
BUSINESS OF THE WEEK: I usually do a business of the week but this week I decided to do something a little different…Very abruptly, all Painted Tree Boutiques have closed. This came as a surprise to the shop owners as well. If you’re unfamiliar with Painted Tree, it was a store which allowed local vendors to set up mini shops and sell their goods. Lots of vendors are now scrambling trying to figure out what to do next. My heart goes out to all the hard working local small business owners. I’d like to gather names of the small businesses that were within Painted Tree and post them on my website for people to support.
