WEST COUNTY NEWS
In Chesterfield, that proposal brought to the Town & Country Planning & Zoning Commission proposing an 80-home Woods Mill Center development (right there at Woods Mill & HWY 40) meeting occurred and is now continued to the next meeting after an hour of discussion. Concerns consisted of ‘traffic and roadway improvements, the potential for rental property in the development and density and greenspace’. In Wildwood, the highly opposed idea of Ameren to put up a telecommunications tower is now not being pursued by Ameren anymore. Residents were concerned about the tower’s appearance and location and the material and debris. Exciting news for Chesterfield Elementary in the Rockwood School District and Pierremont Elementary in Manchester and Fort Zumwalt South High in St. Charles County who received the National Blue Ribbon School status for 2023. Chesterfield Elementary also received the Missouri Gold Star. We have some great schools in our area!!
WHAT WE’RE LOVING THIS WEEK
I’d love to highlight Big Chief Speakeasy located in Wildwood. Many of you may already know and love Big Chief Roadhouse, which was established in 1929 and remains one of the only full service restaurants located on Historic Route 66. They believe in fresh, local food and even have their own garden to supply their fresh produce. They just opened on their second level a speakeasy to take folks back in time! You enter through a telephone booth! They are going to be featuring some amazing whiskey drinks and will focus on unique cocktail selections. Another one to add to my list!!
