“Our journey with Madeline began in late summer of 2020 when we had the bright idea to move our family of five to a different part of town. Time was of the essence as we were expecting our fourth child come January 2021. We began our search in one part of town. Showing after showing after showing. We must have looked at over 50 houses. Madeline guided us through making offers on houses we loved—only to be crushed by the extremely competitive market of 2020. Then, we threw Madeline a curveball. She was getting ready to list our home for sale in O’Fallon when we told her we wanted to stop looking in one area and change our desired landing spot to a totally different part of town. Madeline was there, ready and willing to make it happen for us. To throw another curveball into the mix, we finally had a contract accepted, but ultimately had to move on from that home because of survey issue. Again, Madeline was there. The ups and downs of this roller coaster ride would only continue.

My wife and I distinctly remember sitting down to lunch after another exhausting day of the home search. The conversation was—“should we just wait until after the holidays?” “should we delay the sale of our current home and look again when things cooled down?” That day, another listing came up. It checked a lot of boxes. Through it all, Madeline made it happen for us. She advised us on a competitive offer and terms. She advocated for us with the seller’s agent. The stars seemed to align and she made it happen for us. Our offer was accepted and we had our new landing spot secured. Madeline through all of this continued to draw up massive interest on our home in its ‘coming soon’ stage. We were blown away by the response. The home was marketed and presented beautifully, thanks to Madeline. We had more offers on the home than we could have ever imagined. A quick sale with flexible closing dates was exactly what we needed to secure the holidays for our family and get settled before the fourth baby arrived in early January 2021. Madeline got us to our dream community where we could plant our new roots and focus on what was important to us—time together.

Fast-forward eight months—we reached out to Madeline and told her, “don’t call us crazy, but we want to list our home for sale and move to a bigger house across town.” She didn’t laugh or call us crazy, but took it right in stride and helped us get our house back ready for sale. To make this move work, we needed to proceed on a ‘contingent on the close’ type contract. It was an uphill battle in the crazy real estate market of 2020/2021 to say the least. We found a home we loved in the same dream community—great potential with all of the intangibles. Again, Madeline was there. She helped us secure an ‘under contract contingent on the close of our home.’ Without delay, Madeline got our on the market and beautifully presented. It generated a lot of buzz and once again we were blown away by the offers. We could move forward with the new home. Simply put-Madeline made it all work for us. We pinch ourselves from time to time thinking about how Madeline secured two amazing offers on both our homes and helped negotiate the best deals possible for the homes we purchased.

In taking the time to reflect on all that was accomplished in one-year with our family, a huge part of that is all because of Madeline. Her patience with us was unwavering. Like a lot of other millennials, my wife and I had totally given up on the notion of home ownership. For many years, buying a house simply wasn’t a possibility, and when it finally became financially feasible, the confusion set in immediately. What do we do now? What’s the next step? Who should we talk to first? When the time came to shop, we didn’t have the faintest idea of where to begin. Maybe you’re in the same spot now, reading this testimonial as you look for a new realtor. All of us read reviews online before making purchases these days. Whether it’s a dog toy or a minivan, most of us do our research before we dip into our wallets. Reputation is everything in the digital era, and for good reason; reading the right review at the right time can make all the difference in the world. When I write reviews, I wait until the experience has settled for a while. I wait until I’m out of the “honeymoon” phase. And truth be told, I don’t end up writing a lot of positive endorsements. Maybe I’m difficult to please. Maybe my expectations are too high. But for better or worse, a product or service rarely works so well that I’m moved to write about the experience. Working with Madeline has been the exception to that rule.

We simply cannot recommend Madeline enough.  She made the entire process easy to understand and was incredibly patient with first-time, budget-buyers like us. Without having Madeline in our corner, I’m convinced we would have ended up with a property that did not meet our needs. From very the beginning, I knew I could trust Madeline with our first home purchase. She was candid and answered our questions thoroughly and directly. We always felt like a priority to her, and we didn’t expect that level of care and attention from our realtor.

I thought most realtors preferred to chase big-money clients first, and I believed first-time buyers like us would end up at the bottom of the food chain. To be honest, I was fully expecting a level of service commiserate with our income level. That’s the sort of experience I usually get everywhere else. I was prepared for emails and phone calls to be missed or repeated. I was ready to be treated like a low-importance client.

But Madeline treated us like royalty. She responded promptly to every email, every phone call, and she truly went out of her way to chase down every property we thought might work for us. She listened carefully to everything we wanted in a property and kept digging for leads we might have overlooked. Our home search lasted for months, but her level of commitment to us never wavered. At times it genuinely felt like she was more dedicated to finding our perfect home than we were.  Madeline would take time out of her day to make sure we understood every milestone of the process, talked us through every detail of any contract we needed to sign – line by line if need be – and her ability to translate real estate legal jargon into language we could understand was immensely valuable to us.

As a result of her hard work, we’ve moved into the house of our dreams, and we’ve finally left the rental life behind us. Now we’ve got ample space to invite friends and family over for dinner parties. My wife has space in the yard to plant vegetables and wildflowers. At long last, we’ve got a place we can truly call our own. How do I put a price tag on that? If you’re in need of a great realtor, look no further than Madeline. I was quite impressed with how knowledgeable and informative she was about how to buy a house and explained it so the someone like me with no knowledge of how to buy a home could understand.
