This week I’m highlighting O’Love Oil in Chesterfield Valley!! I am so excited to share with you this amazing, delicious, one-of-a-kind local business that specializes in olive oils and balsamic vinegars. I recently visited the store and met the owner Bill Peplaw and learned so much about their business and how they are so much more than just a store selling olive oil.
Bill and his wife Heather started the business in 2025 with the doors of the store opening in September of last year. Heather has 15 plus years experience in the olive oil business. Although I didn’t meet her in person, you can tell from the store that her love for the business is strong and everything in it and displayed is beautifully done.
I’m sure you might be like me and wonder why it would make sense to go to a different store just to buy olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Let me tell you, it’s worth it! Not only are they delicious, but they are also healthy not only for your heart but for your gut. The healthy ingredient in olive oil is called polyphenol and typical grocery store olive oils will have a count of 75-95. In their store, they have a minimum of 250 count in all their olive oils. The other aspect of this business that makes it so unique and special is they do fresh fills of oils when you purchase them. They are not pre-bottled but rather filled directly out of the vat.
They have quite a large variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars to taste, all sourced from Veronica Foods out of California that has been in the olive oil distribution business since 1924. Classic infused flavors like garlic, lemon, Tuscan and basil are among some of their most popular flavors. Other flavors are sweet like strawberry or blood orange. I learned about so many ways to use the olive oils like in drinks and even in making desserts. Check out their website here , https://oloveoil.store/, to get some of their recipes. I was especially intrigued by using blood orange instead of traditional vegetable oil in a brownie recipe to make it not only healthier but to create a more unique flavor. If you are not wanting any infused flavors, they have a whole line of basic EVOOs that are named after the region of where the olive came from.
Outside of their oils and balsamics, they do two classes each month like a sourdough baking class or a mixology class where you’re taught how to make drinks using the balsamic or oils. Gifts are also available in their store. They have a whole wall dedicated to your sourdough making friends and family and all the items you could think of to complete an amazing charcuterie board.
With the holidays coming up, I can’t think of a better place to check out for your entertaining needs or grabbing the perfect gift for your foodie family member or friend. They have several different types of holiday gift baskets that will be posted soon to their website so be on the look out for that. Treat yourself and pop into their store soon!!
