National Road Trip Day: Explore MO

OK, so I missed National Road Trip Day last Friday but I really wanted to share some of the best places to take a road trip around St. Louis.  Here are some to check out….

  • Lewis & Clark Trail– Follow the Lewis & Clark Trail around MO including some great places like Lewis & Clark State Historical Park & Lewis & Clark Boathouse and Nature Center  https://lewisandclark.org/travel/kansas-missouri-illinois.php
  • St. Louis to the Mark Twain National Forest– ideal for hiking, camping, wild bison, and lots of waterways and don’t forget to check out Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park https://mostateparks.com/park/johnsons-shut-ins-state-park  https://www.fs.usda.gov/mtnf
  • Scenic Highway 36 Drive– This drive will take you through adorable small towns, historical sites and just beautiful places.  You’ll pass towns like Hannibal, St. Joseph, Marceline and Hamilton  https://www.americangeniushighway.com/
  • St. Louis to Springfield, IL is a great drive to take & while there you can enjoy learning about Illinois’ history and seeing the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. https://visitspringfieldillinois.com/
  • Explore Missouri’s Wine Country by visiting one of our great state’s wineries like Herman, Augusta or Ozark Highlands.  https://missouriwinecountry.com/
  • Fugitive Beach in Rolla offers a fun filled waterpark/beach experience. It has over an acre of water, a sand beach, water slides, pavilions and several different heights of cliffs to jump off of.  https://www.fugitive-beach.me/
