This week I’m highlighting Leona Market in the Holly Hills neighborhood!  I know…Holly Hills is not West County, however, one of my past clients opened up this amazing Mediterranean Bakery + Grocery Store and I can’t help but to support this local STL business.

Mary Issa is my sweet past client and owner of this successful local, neighborhood bakery and grocery store.  I was delighted to learn more about her business.

Leona Market specializes in both sweet and savory treats that have that Mediterranean flare.  You’ll see Sambusas, which are savory dough filled creations filled with cheese and meats and different types of pita bread.  The sweet side has, of course, baklava (which is one of my favorites!), date cookies, apple pastries, homemade Dubai chocolate, almond croissants and more!

Homemade soups are a specialty along with other monthly specials like gyros, salads, breakfast sandwiches and waffles.  Coffee drinks and other beverages are offered too.  It is a grocery store as well which is very convenient for those local residents close by to pop in.
