Clancy's Irish Pub: Business of the Week

This week I’m highlighting Clancy’s Irish Pub located in Ellisville!

No better time than today, St. Patrick’s Day, to honor a true, local restaurant that happens to have a rich Irish history dating back to 1850 when an Irish butcher named Timothy Clancy came over from County Clare, Ireland.

Timothy’s son Frank Clancy Sr. purchased the current land that Clancy’s sits on today back in 1928.   Started with a butcher shop and then a deli which has stayed within the family of Clancy’s since.  It is currently owned and operated by 5th generation Nick Clancy and his wife (and the 6th generation of children).

As you would expect, their meats are amazing, especially their burgers in my opinion.  Their onion rings are also hand battered and delicious.  You can’t go wrong with their Rueben sandwich either!  And they still are a butcher shop, offering catering on-site and off-site, and host 2 local farmer’s market shopping experiences a year…one in May (May 10th from 11-3) and one in October.

If you’ve never tried this place, make it your next stop.  Or if you haven’t been there in awhile, definitely stop in soon and support local small business!
