This week I’m highlighting Aging Gracefully!  Last week I met with the owner of this wonderful local business and can’t help but to share their information with you all.  They are a care management company that helps seniors and their families navigate the later stages of life.  They also help those families that are dealing with complex medical situations no matter what the age.

The owner of this amazing organization is Melanie Maynor.  I loved the opportunity to sit down with her last week and hear all about what her and her team do.  I was under the assumption when I initially heard of her company that they provide in home care for the aging community.  I was incorrect in my assumption and they do the step before that in home care.  They provide management of care for yourself or your loved ones.  

If you haven’t dealt with the elderly or aging parents you might not know what that all entails.  It’s not only making sure they are physically cared for but it’s managing the expense of it all, figuring out/managing their finances, being an advocate for them at their doctors appointments, knowing what benefits are out there for seniors, making sure necessary legal documents are in place, setting up daily activities for them to enhance their later years, help transition them to or from their home, rehab center or nursing home, and the list goes on…

At Aging Gracefully, they have a full staff of care specialists that help with all of that.  They create customized plans for each of their clients and families to make sure that person has an advocate working for them.  They make sure they don’t feel alone in this sometimes scary process.  On their website it says their “goal is to maintain a person’s dignity, quality of life and independence.”.  What special work this company does!

Aging care is at the forefront of their business but they also help families that may have a severely disabled child or family member.  Especially when a disability occurs rather quickly, families might feel lost and not sure how they are going to continue their day to day responsibilities while now taking care of their family member that needs more assistance.  Aging Gracefully can step in and help manage that transition and make sure the family and person in need are cared for and on the path to success.
