Last weekend of 2025! I can’t believe it’s already the end of the year…goes by faster each year. I want to take the time to thank you for reading my weekly events this year. In Wildwood, McKelvey Homes broke ground on a new subdivision called The Reserve at Wildwood. Current ground breaking is for two display homes. It is a 50-acre residential community with 115 single-family homes with a square foot range of 1,600-4,000. Some cool features of the subdivision will include walking trails, playgrounds, gazebos, and gathering spaces with firepits. Should be nice! In Ballwin, Schrader Funeral Home recently opened its newly expanded Family Center. It includes many upgrades including expanded kitchen facility with commercial refrigeration and counter space, ability to stream services and Celebrations of Life and even assist with creating memorial videos. Its one of the oldest funeral homes in West County with serving for 157 years. To follow up on the deer culling I mentioned a couple weeks ago…the Wildwood City Council did not have enough votes to approve the contract with White Buffalo Inc., who was going to be doing the deer culling for the third year in a row. It was approved that the deer management would be referred to the Administration and Public Works Committee. They are to report back to the council in 120 days.

BUSINESS OF THE WEEK: This week I’m highlighting UKRAFT in Chesterfield! I have mentioned this delicious restaurant before but have never highlighted them before as my business of the week and they definitely deserve it. My kids and I recently enjoyed lunch there and I can’t say enough great things about it. They are a local sandwich, wrap, salad and soup spot that started out as a food truck in 2018.
