Steampunk Brew Works: Business of the Week

This week I’m highlighting Steampunk Brew Works in Town and Country! Who knew there was a brewery in Town and Country, right?!?  They moved in 1990 to the Town and Country location, which made them the first brewery in Town and Country.  They have a rich history dating back to the mid-1970s under the name Wine-Art of St. Louis.

Love their history page on their website that details their road to West County.  It includes being a home wine making store in the mid 1980s and under a couple different ownerships, eventually started doing more beermaking.  Their original location was on Clayton Road, closer to the city but in 1990, they moved to Lamp and Lantern village in Town and Country.  Beermaking was becoming popular and they were one of the only places around to go to for ingredients, equipment and knowledge.  They outgrew their original location in Lamp and Lantern but luckily another larger space became available there.  This is their current location, which sits closer to the ACE Hardware.  They are a microbrewery and still have all the supplies and equipment needed for homebrewers.

I think it is awesome that they have helped foster the creation of many breweries over the years as well.  They have 17 listed on their website including Alpha Brewing, Third Wheel, Point Labadie Brewing, Earthbound Brewing…just to name a few.

They have lots of events that you could check out which are on their website including karaoke every Saturday night.  If you love beer or even want to know how to make it, this is your place!
